Proof That Karate Black Belt Teens Are Teaching BJJ In Black Belts
The BJJ community has been lit up by the viral story of two Fort Collins teenagers teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu wearing Black Belts. The two girls are karate black belts, which we all know is vastly different from a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, but not everyone does. They and Rener Gracie (through whom the girls have a Gracie University affiliation) claim that they never practice or teach Jiu Jitsu wearing their karate belts. Most of us who have taken karate know that karate black belts never use the red bar that is associated solely with BJJ.
The video below clearly shows one of the girls teaching/practicing Jiu Jitsu wearing a two strip black belt, a feet which would be impossible before the age 25.
The integrity of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is something that most practitioners believe should remain sacred. Any sort of blurring of the lines such as this are detrimental to the overall success of BJJ, while a few earn extra cash for the coffers.
