Charlie From The Plaza here. I’ve been getting a lot of requests for technique videos, but come on, there are 71k other guys on YouTube how can teach you that stuff. What I want to talk about today is kind of serious: “The Blue Belt Blues” or whatever you want to call them, they’re a real thing. Often unspoken about, it’s important to realize that jiu-jitsu has it’s downs as well as ups. Here’s some advice on how to deal with unproductive times in BJJ training. CRINGE WARNING!
This video is both cringeworthy and instructional. If you are a newer BJJ player you may not know that competitions have rules. Most of them are in place to prevent injuries. Please take heed this film and do not do these things to others in the gym or while competing.
Time for some Jiu Jitsu! First of my grappling series, I just had to add some very special people! My wife Marissa Gianino (MarissaFarinaTV) and the lovely Arielle Scarcella! I go over the basic positions of Full Mount, Full Guard, and Back Control. If you want to see more grappling themed videos, leave them in the comments below!! I was also featured on both Marissa and Arielle’s youtube channel, so go check them up!

Russell discussed doing BJJ on the Joe Rogan podcast and now, a little over a year later, he has earned his blue belt.
Russell was promoted by BJJ legend Jean Jacques Machado.
I’m so happy and honored to have received my blue belt from JiuJitsu Master @jeanjacquesmachado
A year and a half ago I got back into #BrazilianJiuJitsu and have worked as hard as could and well as they say “Hard work pays off” I still have a long road ahead of me in the #BJJ world but I’m up for the task and looking forward to the next phase!
